I've been writing and playing tunes and songs for a long time, and though others have recorded some of my stuff, this is my first record under my name. There is a lot of diversity on this record, some good old string band stuff, some modern string band stuff, and a little pop and jazz influence here and there. There are thirteen great guest musicians on the record, all cherished friends, many of whom have won or appeared in the finals in various Clifftop Festival competitions, or have been on stage at Merlefest and other performance festivals. They have contributed wonderfully to bring the best out of this collection, and allowed me to focus solely on the banjo for this project.

My life as a husband, father, musician and nature lover all influenced the music, so this record is a testament to my life in a lot of ways. I am grateful for the support from my family and the players for helping make this a reality.
