The War of Art
Originally released in 2007, only on CD in Japan, The War of Art is Rennie Foster's first full length studio album. A highly personal work, this unique album details the struggle of Rennie's life and business, during a period of transition into the digital music industry. Each track is like a story. Frustration, confusion, resolve, optimism, and many other emotive themes are explored. Genre classification is next to impossible, but references to the classic sounds of Detroit and Chicago play on futuristic exploration of the elements that were prevalent at the time of the album's release, as well as Rennie's signature originality. This digital re-release of the album includes the "hidden track" that features Rennie's infamous rapping, as well as the first ever release of the acapella version of "The Go Down" featuring words initially written by DJ Bone and then translated into Japanese.
