Newcomer Darren C unfolds a three-part groove lesson with this EP and the tone is set perfectly with the title track, where a tough groove steamrolls effortlessly, letting mangled vocals make a welcomed appearance and rubber-band sub bass hold everything together. 'Insouciant' picks up from there and spices things up with quirkier patterns and pitched-down spoken word samples. On the closer 'Indifferent', shadowy effects are called in to reinforce the mood while shuffling percussion leads the way to a busy rhythm section.
