Mariano y La Preferencia an original Tejano Norteno Style Blend group from McAllen Tx originated in December 1991 and continues strong. It released its first album in 1995 under the RikMar Production Label and is being re-released under BocaMar Records-MP Recording Labels in 2012 under the title "Lo Mejor de Mariano y La Preferencia". It is anthology of songs written by Mariano Bocanegra, Joe G Barrera, Roy Ramirez, & Carlos Sanchez. The band contniues to perform in club social and community venues and is available for booking.
