Presentation & description
Bachot Muna , pianist, songwriter and singer of Belgian origin Cameroon is a real globetrotter .
The show Jazz & Dreams is an ingenious blend of Swing , New Orleans, Boogie Blues and a combination of sweet melodious ballads . This cocktail gives as result a dynamic and energetic jazz, a trip back in time.
As described by a journalist of the magazine "Rolling Stone" in his article on the Montreal jazz festival of june 28th 2014 : But when the Cameroonians sits at the piano , it is already much less joking , especially when he favors the groove and rhythm to the melody.
Richard Therrien , host of the Canadian Jazz Radio channel " Jazzologie " has also compared Bachot to the American pianist Mal Waldron , Tchangodei (Benin) or Abdullah Ibrahim (South Africa) ( please check Press excerpt from the article below) .

Bachot Muna : Jazz & Dreams
This Cameroonian birth backpacked across the world , especially Africa , without specific homeport looking for an identity to be defined. Left Cameroon for 19 years for the Ivory Coast where he has his first hit in 1988. Pianist , singer-songwriter and arranger of great talent has produced two CDs : " Its Africa " in 1998 and " Ashiko Go " in 2006. His style is the American negritude of a Mal Waldron and Africanness of Tchangodei ( Benin ) or Abdullah Ibrahim (South Africa) 's .
he will perfoemed the first part of Chucho Valdes FIJM June 28 at 20 am at the PDA Maisonneuve .
Do not be late ... under pain of missing a favorite of the 2013 edition .
A pianist to discover without fault.
1 . Groovy Blues ( 5:46 )
as in Track # 4 , we find the presence of the blues in a style reminiscent of the great Mal Waldron ( 1925-2002 ) characterized by a hypnotic bass line
1 . I'M Gonna Rock Your Night ( 8:15 )
Mixture of stride , ragtime and boogie- woogie ... the African sauce.
1 . Swing The Night ( 3:06 )
in the vein of # 2
1 . Globe Trotter Blues ( 6:24 )
blues as we like ... down and dirty as the Chinese say .

Chucho Valdés, Chucho's Steps.Opening act: Bachot Muna - June 28, Théâtre Maisonneuve, PdA, 8 p.m.- A giant among giants, Chucho Valdés was heralded as "the world's most complete pianist" by Jazz Magazine. Modest by nature, this son of another renowned pianist, Bebo Valdés, who recently passed away, nevertheless knows how to pay proper tribute to the musicians who influenced him. As proof, witness the brand new album Border Free, which finds the Cuba native exploring the music of the North American Indians and the Arab-Andalusian culture. In his first visit in 4 years, he brings us that engaging album, accompanied by his super quintet, the Afro-Cuban Messengers. Caliente! The evening begins with dynamic Cameroon-born pianist and singer Bachot Muna and his eclectic blend of jazz, pop ballads and Afro-soul. - See more at: http://www.noodls.com/viewNoodl/19175772/montreal-international-jazz-festival/start-the-music#sthash.ULZuBMlK.dpuf

Montreal 2013 - Day 1 , Friday, June 28
But for now , he takes it pours , the J- Seb . And explain that if he paid the big hearts to take eight days of vacation to attend a maximum of concerts in Montreal , it's a bit much fault ... Rolling Stone and logbook that recounted the facts last year on the magazine's website . Suddenly feeling a bit stupid , we will refrain from confess that the " guilty " was very close to him. We attack the landing phase ? What a great idea this is!
Hotel transfer , check-in, unpacking succinct, express shower , and immediately in the thick of it.
On stage at the Theatre Maisonneuve , piano spins already . Pants black leatherette , red velvet spencer ( Spencer still in 2013 we said? ) , Ruffled shirt , sunglasses and tiags two-tone red and black also Bachot Muna would willingly give the impression that he is about to , at the option , to audition to join the cast of a remake of Purple Rain or coax former Palace of spotters and Bains -Douches in the mid 80s . But when the Cameroonians sits at the piano , it is already much less joking , especially whe he favors the groove and rhythm to the melody. We regret almost suddenly that man do the same chatty between songs , but when he explains how as a teenager he had a guitar made out of a tree trunk above the adjusting brake cables bicycle way ropes when he was not drawing on Kraft paper notes a fictitious keyboard to repeat the chords he could experiment later.
