Damn, She Bad (feat. Kevin Gates & Bwa Ron) [Explicit]
Teddy Tee, MTV reality star, touring Hip Hop Artist, and diversified entrepreneur has certainty proved that within those country haystacks lay a few needles of golden talent. Since Teddy Tee Aka Dub Duces humble beginnings in the small sleepy town of Camden, Alabama, he has made it his mission to prove that the slow pace of the South did not match his drive to succeed. At 17 years old, Teddy packed his bags to seek out his avenue for success and found himself in the mecca of a burgeoning Atlanta Hip Hop scene. As the mean streets of any big city would prove to most young hopefuls, Teddy found that providing for himself would be a tougher challenge than anticipated. With no means, he decided to sell drugs to support himself which unfortunately led to an 18 month prison sentence. Like they say, you come on vacation and leave on probation, he jokes. I didn’t have any game. Im green, from Alabama. I come from a small town, my whole life has been revolved around needing money and getting money so I got caught up.
Although down momentarily, Teddy Tee packed his bags once again and landed in Seattle in hopes of a new start. While there, he heard about a MTV casting call for Fonzworth Bentley’sreality show From G’s to Gents and the chance to win $100,000. Shortly after applying, Teddy Tee was flown out to Los Angeles to compete, landing himself as a final contestant on the highly rated TV series. The show took 30 days to shoot and ran for two and a half months, Teddy explains. I didn’t get nothing but notoriety from the show. After that, people knew me. Teddy decided to take advantage of the notoriety, and began refocusing his goals towards his career in music.
In 2010, he began networking with Seattle area artists and began recording again. The result was two back-to-back EPs- More To Come and Straight out of Wilcox, named after the county where he grew up in Alabama. As both albums were well-received, the self proclaimed country boy decided to set sights on a new landscape for his artistic expression and moved to the Hawaiian Islands. This move catapulted his motivation to create his unique style of hip hop and create another well-received LP titled, Small World. People have been feeling my music because I’m from the South and I bring so much versatility to the music, Teddy says. Being from the country, you would expect me to rap slow but I’m worldly. His incomparable sound and musical versatility led him to opportunities to begin touring to highlight his passion to the masses. During this time,Teddy also began recording his popular Dj Scream hosted 2014 mix tape, Horse Power. The compilation featured a homage to his Southern origins with the hit single and video, Alabama featuring the late up and coming Hip Hop Artist, Doe B. Losing Doe B was tragic. As far as Alabama, it set us back again, because right when we had the scope on us again for having musical talent and it was taken just like that! Soon after the release of Alabama, Teddy connected with rising Hip Hop artist, Dej Loaf for the remix of Ride For Me, This Hip Hop ballad led him to a short tour with Dej Loaf promoting the song.
He soon after, found himself touring with other notable Hip Hop Artists such as: The Game, Too Short, Rich Boy, Durrough Music, Lil’ Boosie, Yo Gotti, and Yung Thug. While touring, Teddy formed a friendship with Southern Rap Star Kevin Gates and they soon began recording several songs together. The first song was a remix to Teddy’s already popular hit song, About Nuthin from his original Horse Power mix tape. During this busy time of Teddy’s career, he was also recording the next volume in his mix tape series, titled “Horse Power Reloaded”. His reputation of making hits and tireless work ethic had also led to a partnership with Kevin Gates’ Brand, Bread Winner’s Association, with Teddy being a spokesperson for the BWA Hawaii Brand better known as BWAHAWAII. Bread Winner’s Association has played a big part of the new tape with new songs featuring Kevin Gates, Og Boobie Black, and hosting by BWA Ron. Teddy Tee continues to pursue his goal of Alabama’s uprising in the Hip Hop community by creating projects embracing his Southern roots.
