Bomb Squad II
New York, NY - November 23 - Almost a year after making their worldwide debut at the American Music Awards, the Bomb Squad is set to release their second studio effort, entitled Bomb Squad II, on November 24th. The twelve song collection is a follow up to their 2001 debut indie release, Sophistafunk, which earned the band a dedicated group of fans across the US and abroad.
With Bomb Squad II, the band's trademark sound broadens to a more edgy rock vibe propelled by heavier guitar and hook driven melodic songs.
Jimmy Bralower (Rolling Stones, Madonna, Britney Spears, M2M) lends his production hand on cuts Big Hot Money Spot, Maybe, and Rip it Up. According to Bralower, "After hearing about 30 seconds of their music, I knew I wanted to get in the studio with Bomb Squad. Great playing, great singing, great songs. An exciting live band with deep roots and a totally fresh sound."
From heavy tracks like Starbanger and Rip it Up, influenced by their roots in Zeppelin and Sabbath, to the hook-laden Maybe, a pop reggae rocker, Bomb Squad II keeps the in-your-face pace going from start to finish.
Guitarist Q says, "On this album, there are touches of Rock, Latin, RnB and Funk. And Bralower brought the best out of us in the studio. What's most important to the band is to move people with the groove and songs. On Bomb Squad II, it's all there."
The Bomb Squad won the New Music Award at the 31st Annual American Music Awards. Given the nod by Dick Clark, the band received the honors and performed directly after Metallica at the awards last year.
