Switching gears for Translation Recordings' second release, prolific UK artist ASC shows us the other, brighter, side of the Translation coin. On a framework of punchy kicks and crisp snares "Atlantic Breeze" glides effortlessly through blissful atmospheric synth washes and haunting vocal chants that weave faintly through the mix like voices in a dream. On the flipside is "Sunrise," an emotive roller that opens with a double kick drum break and urgent cymbal rides and progresses smoothly into soaring strings and playful keys all grounded by subtle analogue bass rumblings: the perfect soundtrack for balmy summer nights.
