Orbital Amusement

Orbital Amusement

Minneapolis based rock band Little Man's release, “Orbital Amusement”, slings into the musical stratosphere from Chris Perricelli’s studio launching pad. Sonic delights abound with sputnik sounds, layered vocals and fuzzy pitch-bending guitars. Lyrically, personal themes of self-discovery and man’s instinct vs. social morays merge with fierce riffs and hooks expertly captured and honed by longtime Little Man producer Ed Tinley.

Somewhat reminiscent of familiar favorites (Led Zeppelin I, Flash Gordon-era Queen), this EP’s contemporary qualities, comparable to today's The Black Keys, Raconteurs, or Wolfmother, ultimately prevail. Sound expert Brian Herb’s power bass fused with the elegant bashings of Sean Gilchrist’s percussion provide a proper foundation, but not without polyrhythmic surprises.
