Ricky McMahon was born and raised on Chicago’s West Side. He became interested in the fundamentals of how music was composed at an early age. His passion for music and entrepreneurship sparked his creativity and led him to create his own studio in his residence. Since that time, Rick has become the founder of VocalTech Records. He is a brilliant self-taught musician who plays piano, guitar and programs beats. He is truly one of Chicago’s most talented producers, engineers and graphic designers! In the past he has worked for the Railroad and was the owner of a booming construction company. After that venture, Rick pursued a career in the music industry. His interests include all genres of music such as Rock, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Pop, Neo Soul, R&B and Reggae.
Born into a talented, musical family, Rick’s grandfather, Andrew “Blueblood” McMahon, was also a musician who played bass guitar for Muddy Waters and other noted blues artists. Blueblood’s album, “Go Get My Baby” is still popular to date. Rick’s uncle
