Play, Dance, Repeat
THE ANIX- There is a certain amount of bravado and exhibitionism missing in modern music. While there are artists who have risen to a level of popularity that calls for perhaps a more expensive road show, rarely are they able to sell the audience on the idea that this is what they wanted all along. Modesty has become the norm in a landscape once filled with glittering dreams of larger than life success. Artists today will humbly claim having no designs on large scale success, and will consequently never achieve it.
Enter The Anix, with unapologetic eyes fixated on stardom. Not wasting time pretending to just want to make a living, The Anix are preparing for something bigger. Every detail of The Anix, from the songs to the stage show to the look of the band is completely obsessed over by frontman Brandon Smith. Falling for both music and design at an early age, Brandon has essentially spent his life working toward developing a vision for his ideal band and putting it into practice. Taking on an updated vintage feel both sonically and visually, calling upon inspiration from artists like Duran Duran, Depeche mode, and The Cars, The Anix has crafted a brand of electronic rock that is danceable, accessible and intentionally simple. Similarly, the band has spent countless hours on the look of the band, both in what they wear and how they present themselves in their stage show, even going so far as to custom design and build their own equipment. Combining high fashion with old-school rock and roll, The Anix is more suited to blowing out arenas rather than the small hometown clubs where they currently play.-Kingsofar.com 2006
