Mirror Mirror is the New York-based psych pop duo of David Riley and Ryan Lucero. Their first album, “The Society for the Advancement of Inflammatory Consciousness” (2008), evoked secret societies with its cultish folk singalongs, lush harmonies, and eerie electronic soundscapes. “Interiors” (2011) took the band’s sound in a more darkly romantic direction, combining icy synths and epic melodies with restless beats and walls of noise. Mirror Mirror’s new “Melting People EP” explores the loss of physical bodies to virtual selves, where identity and genre are equally meaningless. The music moves fluidly between electronic minimalism, ‘60s psychedelia, grunge, goth and shoegaze.
