Sunshine is Amy Santos and Steven Ferrara, an artistic partnership based in Brooklyn, NY. They grew up listening to Indie Rock and grew out listening to Traditional Jazz, Blues and Americana. Their first full-length self-produced debut CD “Down and Up Blues” is a musical time capsule of songs and experiences from 2009-2013. Listeners will hear these influences throughout the record. Sunshine returned to the studio this September 2014 to record with their 7 piece live band, The Knights. On this forthcoming CD, entitled “Sunshine Nights”, expect to hear more lush horn arrangements and vocal harmonies. Tracked mostly live, this recording is the result of 7 friends together in one room playing music they love. It was recorded at Virtue and Vice Studios in Brooklyn, NY by Anthony “Rocky” Gallo. The worldwide release date is February 10, 2015.

Sunshine was born one fine day in Manhattan's East Village when Amy sang a song and Steve played her guitar. They quickly realized that making music together was fun and sounded pretty cool, so they kept doing it. After they moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn, Amy picked up the bass and Steve the lap steel.

Since then they've performed in NYC, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Montréal, New Orleans, Austin, Nashville and Mysore, India. Their music's roots are their gut and heart, rather than their head.

Sunshine's live band, The Knights, consists of The Reverend Crawford Forbes on trumpet, Mike Lambert on electric guitar, Pitti on drums, Dylan Thurston on piano, and guest artist from England, Beth Michelle Schofield on clarinet and saxophone.
